Karthik Subbaraj is ready to start filming for his next film, “Jigarthanda DoubleX”. Subbaraj will direct and write the film. Its shooting will begin in Madurai Monday. It is a sequel of the Tamil movie “Jigarthanda” from 2014.
According to reports, the film was inspired by “A Dirty Carnival” in South Korea. The remake was made in Telugu and Hindi. Kriti Sanon and Akshay Kumar were the leads.
The sequel will pick up where the original part ended and is billed as an action-packed adventure featuring Raghava Lawrence (S.J. Suryah is the main protagonist.
Lawrence stated: “I am a big fan of Jigarthanda, which introduced a new style in Tamil cinema’s narrative.
“When Karthik approached me for the ‘Jigarthanda DoubleX,’ I immediately said yes because I knew that he would deliver something extraordinary and unique. Stone Bench Films is an excellent film production company and I look forward to working with them.
The film’s makers are aiming for a trilingual release in Hindi and Telugu and Tamil, which they hope to release next year.
Suryah stated that Kartik Subbaraj is a well-known director of Tamil cinema and has a cult following. His world-building and storytelling skills have always been a highlight and have ushered in an era of Tamil cinema.
Under the banner Stone Bench Films, Kaarthekeyen Santhanam is producing “Jigarthanda DoubleX”.
